It’s officially summer — the sun is blazing, school is out, and hopefully, your kiddos are already signed up for swim lessons (because if not... good luck!).
A few years ago, I learned the hard way just how intense the swim lesson sign-up game can be. I remember staying up until midnight like it was Black Friday just to grab a spot at the YMCA.
Kids don't realize how much we sacrifice for them.
The class dropped, and within five minutes — I kid you not — it was already fully booked. I was refreshing the screen like it was Ticketmaster for a concert on tour day. Stressful? Absolutely. Worth it? 1000%.
Swimming is more than just a life skill — it’s a whole vibe. It builds confidence, strengthens muscles, and teaches kids discipline, focus, and how to breathe through the chaos (in and out of the pool). It’s also a sport that doesn’t require fancy gear or a team of 20 to practice — just water and willpower.
Plus, let’s be real: once they learn to swim, pool days are a lot more fun (and less nerve-wracking for mama).
So if you’re in that midnight-registration club — solidarity. If you missed it this year — bookmark the date for next. Your kids (and your peace of mind) will thank you.
Here's to safe splashes and strong swimmers this summer!
